lemme just say
no hating on this blog, if someone posts something and you dont like it, dont express it. we are all here as a collective contributing things we personally appreciate and love, so lets all understand that we may have differing music tastes and theres nothing wrong with that. And another thing, im thinkin this blog shouldnt strictly be punx or skins or whatever....post what you want, if you like it and you want to share it with me and the rest of our friends, im down. who else is with me?

Sort of surprised I didn't have an angry mob at my front door for the Sugarcubes post.
OK, here is a thought. I'm hardly much older than anybody else here, but I've been around long enough to see alot of kids drop out of the whole 'punk' thing, and seemingly just fall into oblivion. Alot of the time I believe kids may feel as if they are held back, or may be criticized or rejected for standing up and honestly 'doing what they want', or expressing the way they really feel. My tastes haven't so much changed as they have expanded with time. I've luckily been able to lose alot of my old biases when it comes down to music. There are alot of clever, talented kids out there in the 'scene' who I think could be doing alot more if they would only learn to open their minds to the idea of new things, or new 'old' things at least. The attitude is crucial, it's about everything that matters, rebellion, individuality, expression, and love. The spirit is there if you look for it, it can be found in many different types of music, not just 'punk'. After all, do you really think the Clash wrote albums like London Calling because they were sitting around listening to 'punk' records. Don't let labels fool you, they will only hold you back, find your OWN identity, THATS what really counts.

damn, there is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion. Just support your arguments and don't be an asshole about it... that's what I think. We can have different tastes and still be friends, right?
