If you like electronicy gothy dancy waveish music you'll love this band, Clan of Xymox was a darkwave band which formed in the Netherlands in 1983, definitely a band they play at home sweet home on goth night Wednesdays. they started off as Xymox with their first release called "Subsequent Pleasures", Yet adopted the name "Clan of Xymox" with their first self titled release on 4AD in 1985. 4AD was an independent label which put out such bands as Bauhaus, Modern English, Cocteau Twins, Birthday Party, This Mortal Coil, and Pixies.This album is most enjoyable while listened to in a dark underground club, preferably one with a smoke machine and strobe lights. so if you want to enjoy this album to the full effect come to coldwave wednesday night at Home Sweet Home, 131 chrystie right below delancey. you know i'll be there.
