Destroy All Monsters were from Detroit. They were formed in 1973. The singer's name is Niagara, she is amazing and vicious, and pretty much one of my fashion icons. They never became really popular, nonetheless there are not alot of female singers who have performed like Niagara then (or even now, besides like, karen o and that lady from the gossip, copycats i say). She like, rolls on the floor an shit. They were all originally artists, and a couple of the bandmembers came from other famous bands, i think (two of the bandmembers went to my school, calarts). Thurston Moore released a compilation of their music, but they never formally released a full length album. They toured with ramones and dead boys.
That GG Allin song, Die When You Die, was originally a Destroy All Monsters song.
Who would've thought that a famous GG Allin number was originally sung by a woman? not me.
